Watch as ASAP’s Carey and her little chefs make No-Bake Oreo Truffles!

This week’s curbside supply bags included the ingredients to make No-Bake Oreo Truffles. If you weren’t able to get a supply bag this week, you can follow along with these instructions.

Supplies provided:
4 Oreo cookies
2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
¼ cup Sweet sweet chocolate chips, melted
Plastic Ziploc bag
Parchment paper piece

Supplies needed from home:
Small coffee mug to safely melt chocolate in the microwave
Small bowl (cereal bowl size) to mix cream cheese and crushed Oreos

Instructions:

  1. Crush cookies in a resealable plastic bag using your hands, careful to not break the bag. (Tip: Remove all the air from the bag before sealing it.)
  2. In a bowl or in the plastic bag, add cream cheese & cookie crumbs. Mix until well blended.
  3. Roll cookie mixture into balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  4. Microwave chocolate chips in a coffee mug. Heat for 20 seconds at a time and stir. Watch closely — chocolate can burn in the microwave.
  5. Dip balls in melted chocolate the place on a wax paper-covered baking sheet.
  6. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour. Store leftover truffles, covered, in refrigerator.

Enjoy!

Let’s make SLIME! This week’s video is extra special, because it was made by an awesome middle schooler from our After School Action Program!

You’ll see in the video how to make two types of slime: a basic slime and a fluffy slime. Included in the supply bags from Bridges to Growth are the materials to make the basic slime (glue, liquid starch, food coloring, and glitter). If you would like to make fluffy slime, you will need to add shaving cream and/or lotion from home.

If you didn’t get one of the free curbside supply bags before they sold out, use this materials list to watch along and make slime at home.

Supplies needed:
1/2 cup glue (clear or white)
4 tbsp Staflo liquid starch
food coloring

Optional supplies:
glitter
6 tbsp of shaving cream or lotion

We’d love to see your goopy, gloppy creations, so share on social media and tag us!
